Linden Street Brewery

Had a chance to check out Linden Street Brewery for the first time. Linden Street is located in a somewhat remote area near the Port of Oakland and Jack London Square.  The taproom is open Tuesday - Friday from 5pm - 8pm and Saturdays from 12pm - 5pm. The bartender asked if I had been there before and when I answered no he he let me try a small tasting of the beers available on tap.

Linden Street Brewery only brews Lagers from what I can tell. They had 3 on tap at the time I was there. Burning Oak Black Lager, Deep Roots Red Lager and The 'Town Lager. They had another Lager that was out named Urban People's Lager.

Burning Oak Lager was my favorite of the beers I tried. It pours a dark brown, almost black, with a small white head. Smell is mostly toasty. Taste was roasty, mild bitterness and very light and crisp.

Deep Roots Red pours a nice deep red with an amber colored head. Smells of caramel. Taste was mostly caramel and fruity. Light beer with mild bitterness.

The 'Town Lager was very light. Tasted basically like PBR. Wasn't a big fan but could see this being very good on a hot day.

Deep Roots Red Lager and Burning Oak Black Lager

Beers were served in plastic cups which is fine for the type of beers they serve. Atmosphere is very relaxed. Some barstools at the bar, a couple of tables and some seats and barrels outside on the patio. They are also open on some Sunday's where they grill food. I definitely see myself coming back here on a nice summer day to enjoy a light crisp beer.
