Finally was able to check out Speakeasy in San Francisco. I've been a big fan of their beers for a few years now. Speakeasy is open on Friday nights and beers are only $3 between 4pm - 9pm. The last Friday of the month they usually have food trucks, bands and special releases. They have tours of the brewery on most Fridays. You have to call them to find out if and when they are doing tours.
The place is not very difficult to find. Just look for the neon sign on the building. The parking lot was full but there is plenty of parking on the street. Once inside you will find a person at a window where you can buy tokens to trade in for beer. The bar is around the corner and the line was pretty long but moved fairly quickly. A big minus for this place is that they serve their beers in plastic cups. They do have a deal for $10 that gets you a pint glass and 2 tokens but they were out of glasses.
The crowd was pretty mixed. Lots of kids running around, skinny jean hipsters, big pant Giants fans, etc. There is a few chairs and a lot of standing room. The place is a warehouse but it's pretty warm in there because they have heating lamps all over.
All in all it was a pretty cool spot. I probably wouldn't make it out there again unless they had some special beer release party. The plastic cups definitely dampened my mood about the experience.
